Why I built this
I built FirearmVault because I needed it for my own collection, not because I saw a gap in the market.
For years I tried a handful of different programs and apps that all claimed to do everything you'd ever need. None of them actually worked for me, and it always came down to the same three problems.
- They're almost always online or cloud-based — a real security and privacy risk when the data is your serial numbers, values, and storage locations.
- They come with a high price tag or a recurring monthly charge. What happens to your information if you ever stop paying?
- They're built so complicated that they're honestly a pain to sit down and use.
FirearmVault is what I built instead. It's meant to work for me, but also for my friends and family — whether you just want your own records straight, or you're thinking ahead for whoever handles your estate someday.
